Today, one in four dying Americans is a veteran.

These men and women may have experiences related to their military service that present unique challenges at the end of life.

Hospice of the Piedmont is prepared to better identify and meet the unique needs of veterans at the end of life.  Focused on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and acknowledgement of service that is sensitive to each veteran's preferences, our professional staff and trained volunteers pledge to provide the highest quality care to the nation's veterans and their families.

Through ongoing assessment of needs and available resources, staff education, community networking, and creative programming, we will raise awareness, improve access, and tailor services to best meet the needs of veterans and their families.

Hospice of the Piedmont is proud to announce the We Honor Veterans program, in partnership with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).  We Honor Veterans:  Hospice Professionals on a Mission to Serve is a national initiative supporting hospice organizations committed to guiding America's veterans and their families through their life stories toward a peaceful ending.
